David Grear
CHAIR OF BOARD
David Grear is a senior leader with extensive experience in social services, justice reintegration, and supported housing, bringing a strong commitment to whānau‑centred, kaupapa Māori approaches. He is currently Chief Operating Officer at Te Pā, where he oversees day‑to‑day operations, financial stewardship, and service delivery across multiple community contracts supporting people with complex needs. David has a long career working alongside government, iwi, and community partners, including more than a decade in senior roles within the Department of Corrections. He is experienced in governance, risk, and organisational sustainability, and currently serves on the Governance Board of Social Work Practice at Unitec. David is known for values‑based leadership grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi, practical problem‑solving, and a strong focus on achieving meaningful outcomes for communities.
